The centre-back limped off after just 10 minutes of Saturday's 1-1 draw at Burton and, although the problem is not as bad as first feared, early indications suggest he will not play again until February.

Fellow defender Shane Cansdell-Sherriff will also be going for a precautionary X-ray after damaging his foot at the weekend.

But he trained on Monday and the problem is not thought to be serious.
