Jackson lauds Shrews effort

With manager Graham Turner focused on Shrews` League Two promotion bid, Jackson was in charge of proceedings at the Greenhous Meadow and watched a Town side made up of fringe and youth-team players triumph thanks to Kane Cork`s 83rd-minute winner.

Town`s line-up was captained by Connor Goldson and included the likes of Chris Neal, Kelvin Lomax, Danny Taylor, Niall Canavan, Sean McAllister, Benjamin van den Broek and Nathan Elder.

Jackson told Shrews` official website: "They did really well. Credit to the young kids who came in and that credit should also go to Dave (Hughes, head of youth) for all the work he has done with them and it is all part of their development, so I am made up for them."

He added: "It is great for them. It is important they learn to win football matches. It is okay to let them develop and let them make mistakes but somewhere down the line they have to learn to win games and win competitions and that is what they have done here."
