Jody: I'm not Swede on move

The Town forward could have joined Swedish side Bodens BK in a two-month switch. However, the Swedish mid-season break and transfer window situation means Banim would only be able to play one game for the Swedes and would miss out on pre-season training with Salop.

Bodens BK are third bottom in the Swedish second division without a win in the opening six games. Banim admitted he would have liked to have taken up the challenge, but that it was not worth it for one game. He told the club's official website: 'It would have been good experience, if the move had meant me playing then I would have gone there.'

Jody will instead concentrate on getting fit for next season, his first in the Football League. He insisted he was looking forward to it despite rumours of a move to the North, 'It's a massive season and I can'y wait for it, a lot of people around Manchester have said I might be leaving but it's the furthest thing from my mind,' he said.

Jody is having an operation on his knee next week and hopes to be fit for the new season.
