Loan is improving my game - Davis

"It's a lot harder than I thought it would be but I'm getting used to it now," Davis told BBC Radio Shropshire.

"You don't get time on the ball in the league, you get closed down quickly, so your awareness gets better."

The Wolves youngster said the level of competition is stronger than playing reserve team football.

"You're playing for points and there's a lot at stake, it's people's jobs. Being on loan here has made me a better player," he added.

Shrewsbury manager Graham Turner initially signed Davis on a one month loan deal after his side were beaten by Bury at Gigg Lane.

Having played in midfield alongside Nicky Wroe, another recent signing, Davis feels the fresh faces has provided a healthy competition for places.

"When I and a few of the loan boys came in I think it was a reminder to the lads to realise that certain people's places are not safe. They've responded well to that. There's a real belief we can get promotion."
