Manager of month award for Turner

"I must pay tribute to the players who've worked extremely hard," Turner told BBC Radio Shropshire.

"I get the award, but really it's a reflection on everyone and for everything that's gone on at the club."

Shrewsbury's run followed a difficult January that persuaded Turner to make six signings - some permanent, some loan deals - in the transfer window.

Nicky Wroe from Torquay scored the goal that beat Stevenage 1-0, while Wolves loanee Dave Davis and full-back Jermaine Grandison - signed on an 18-month deal from Coventry - have both proved influential.

Shrewsbury lost their first game of March to Bury, but Turner hopes that will prove a blip rather than the 'curse' of winning the award.

"It's be nice to think there'll be another couple of managerial awards here before the end of the season - and that would probably be enough to earn us promotion," he said.
