McAllister blow for Shrews

Shrewsbury will be without Sean McAllister for their top-of-the-table clash at local rivals Port Vale. The midfielder was forced off just 14 minutes into Saturday`s 2-2 draw at Wycombe with a hamstring injury and although it is not as bad as first feared, he is still expected to be out for around a week. Key winger Lionel Ainsworth, having recently recovered from a groin strain, was rested at the weekend but still proved his worth as he came off the bench late on to put Town 2-1 ahead. Manager Graham Turner opted to keep him fresh bearing in mind the club faced two games in four days and he will now definitely start at Vale Park. Shrews looked sharp in training on Monday ahead of the crunch clash, and Turner told Shrews Player: "It`s one of those on paper that could be a really cracking game. "They`ve gone above us at the top of the table, there should be a big crowd there - most of it will be hostile - and we`ve got to silence that."
