Peters pledges football future

Peters was speaking after Town assured their League Two status on Saturday, and now the Shrewsbury boss is plotting a promotion push next season.

Peters told ShrewsWeb: "With the new stadium and the board building a future for the football club I've got to make sure that the football side runs in conjunction with the business side of the club."

He also moved to reassure fans, after his reluctance to sign a new contract lead to questions over his committment to Town. Peters had also been linked with the vacant Chester job.

Peters continued: "Sometimes I'm in at the ground at 5am, most times 7am and then don't finish until 11pm when I finish watching a game in the evening. Most weeks the only day I get off has been Sunday's when I've been watching games.

"I've committed every hour of my life since I joined in November and though to today, when I could easily have been elsewhere."

"I'm fully committed and have been throwing myself into this club since the day I walked in the door."
