The exciting youngster, who began training with the first team several weeks ago, looks to have an exciting future with Town.

As he signed the contract, boss Gary Peters was full of praise for the youngster. He told ShrewsWeb: "We've had him with the first team now and feel that it's right to sign Marco on a pro contract.

"He's got skill, technique, intelligence, he's quick, has a low centre of gravity, turns people well and gets his back into them, holds the ball up and scores goals, in a striker all those things are great assets."

Town have a good record in youth player production, with Jamie Tolley and Dave Edwards both progressing to the first team. Fellow prospects Ross Stephens, Gary Price and Liam Murray are also getting first team experience with their loan teams.

If Town assure themselves League Two football next year, fans could see Adaggio turn out for the first team this term.
