Prodlock Says No Meadow To Move

Shrewsbury Town boss Kevin Ratcliffe faces a urgent race against time to sign a new striker ahead of the massive play-off six-pointer at Rushden & Diamonds this Saturday with the departure of popular on-loan striker Tony Lormor back to Hartlepool together with a further hammer blow being dealt to Ratcliffe today with the news that the Shropshire born Wolves striker Adam Proudlock will NOT be coming to Gay Meadow on loan.

Ratcliffe said today on ShrewsWeb "Proudlock was another option but he says that we would rather continue to play at a higher level.

"It's a bit of knock back on both counts and it makes the squad a little light up front.

"I've got a few other options and will hopefully be able to bring someone in by the weekend."

With some money given by the board to spend, Ratcliffe will be expected by many Town supporters to bring in a replacement striker in time for the Rushden match, with Ian Stevens of Carlisle United a possible candidate after Town expressed their interest in the former Shrewsbury man back in November.
