Ratcliffe Happy With The Performance

Kevin Ratcliffe has admitted that we had to work hard to get the result against Halifax.

"We've worked hard, done the right things and got out just rewards.

"I don't think the pitch helps, it's one of these pitches that goes underwater easy but it also dries out too easy. It's very sticky to play and in front of goal the ball takes all sorts of bobbles and goes all over the place.

"I was pleased with the chances we created, we could have been a couple of goals up at half-time.

Kev also admitted that he thought Luke was lucky to remain on the pitch after his two footed challenge in the first half.

"Luke looked a little nervous early on but once he settled down he was ok.

"It was a nasty tackle he did on their lad, and maybe he was a bit lucky to stay on the pitch.

"Luke's so desperate to go out and impress and do well, though he can get a little bit over anxious, but I want winners and Luke is a winner".

The Gaffer is a bit dissapointed with the crowd sizes at the moment,

"I'd like to see more people coming to the games, I'm a bit disappointed with the figures. I'd like to think with the way we're playing and the position in the league, then we'd be getting more like 4,000-4,500 though the turnstiles.

"If we can get good points a from the Exeter and Rushden games then the next crowd you'll see will be above 4,000.
