The Shrews boss told the club's official website: "We're looking at the situation with Andy's ankle, and that will have an effect whether we continue the loan.

"Andy's trying to come to a settlement at Cardiff, and if he can sort that out we'll be happy to keep him for this season, and for the next.

"Tony's done an excellent job for us, he's been great. We'll have to wait until the weekend before making a decision on Tony.

"What will help is if we can take Andy on, and this will free up the loan space. This opens up the possibility to keep Tony and keep a loan space open.

"I'd like to keep a loan space open coming up to deadline day, then we can have a look and see what we need," added Ratcliffe.
