Shrewsbury Town's two senior coaches Stuart Delaney and Dave Timmins have followed the recently-sacked manager Paul Simpson in leaving the club.Delaney, who was Simpson's deputy, told BBC Radio Shropshire he was sorry to be leaving but had some good memories.
"I've had five good years and enjoyed the ups and downs. You hope it makes you a better coach," he said.
"Highs? Getting to Wembley twice was fantastic, and the club's moving in the right direction to success."
The pressure was on Delaney after Simpson was sacked on 30 April as Shrewsbury missed out on the League Two play-offs.
He took the caretaker-manager role for the game against Morecambe 24 hours later, but was not involved in the following match on the final day of the season at Port Vale.
"I was fortunate when Paul first came in as he kept me. I was seen as [former manager] Gary Peters' man then.
"But that's football - the new manager at Shrewsbury, whoever it will be, may well want to bring in his own backroom staff and start afresh."
Goalkeeping coach Timmins was in his second period at the club after being brought back by Simpson.
"It's disappointing how it's ended this way, but I think I've left the goalkeeping department in good shape.
"Dave Button, Chris Neal when he's been fit, Steve Phillips - they've all progressed.
"I brought in Hakan Duyan from Liverpool, who's been rewarded with a professional contract for next season - and Premier League clubs are enquiring about our young boys."
A Shrewsbury spokesman added: "The club wishes to place on record its thanks to them both for all their hard work and wishes them every success in the future."
