Shrewsbury will succeed - Trewick

John Trewick has insisted his new post as assistant to boss Graham Turner at Shrewsbury will work despite being sacked by Turner at Hereford in March."Sacked is a harsh word. At the time we agreed amicably it was the right move," Trewick told BBC Radio Shropshire.

"We've worked together successfully over six years, with two promotions, and we were never going to fall out."

Trewick left Edgar Street while Turner was chairman but was recalled this week by the new Shrewsbury manager.

Together they took Hereford up from the Conference in 2008, and straight to promotion from League Two 12 months later.

However, as hard-up Hereford struggled to avoid relegation last season, Turner took the team reins again but could not avoid the drop.

"We know each other inside out, and it's been a good partnership," Trewick added, "and I know it will continue to be so.

"Shrewsbury's a different club, and while I don't like to make predictions, I'm confident we can be successful here."
