Taylor stitches up Macc men

Hamza Bencherif gave the visitors a 19th-minute lead, but Turner's side hit back through Jon Taylor three minutes later and struck three second-half goals as substitute Lionel Ainsworth fired a double and Matt Harrold fired home in the 90th minute.

Turner said: "Macclesfield could have been a handful, especially when they went a goal up, but we came back strongly and I think the fourth goal from Matt Harrold typified what we have been looking for.

"Everybody gets on edge at this stage of the season so it was an excellent performance."

Turner was full of praise for teenage winger Taylor, who had suffered with a bug all week, but scored the all-important leveller.

Turner added: "He was brilliant for the 40 minutes or so that he remained on the pitch, but he just felt he couldn't carry on, but he should be alright for next week. It's nice to have someone of the calibre of Lionel Ainsworth to come off the bench. He frightens everyone with his pace and he deserved his two goals.
