Shrewsbury Town boss Graham Turner will hold emergency talks with winger Jon Taylor after the youngster rejected a new contract. Taylor, 18, joined the club as a trainee two years ago and scored two goals in his first start for the first team in February 2011.

"We have been told verbally he won't accept it," manager Graham Turner told BBC Radio Shropshire.

"Whether we can conclude a deal later in the day remains to be seen."

Turner says he will now hold emergency talks with Taylor to find out what is happening.

"Discussions are on going," Turner added. "I would have liked to have got it tied up.

"When they reach the conclusion that Manchester United and Arsenal aren't going to sign them then they come back and start talks."

Meanwhile, midfielder Steve Leslie is yet to contact the club regarding his offer.

The 23-year-old, who has made over 100 appearances for the club since joining in 2006, spent the end of last season on loan at Hereford United.
