Hibbert then forced Artur Krysiak into a fine save before Guy Branston picked up his second booking in the space of three minutes to reduce Burton to 10 men before half-time.

But the home side fought valiantly for the equaliser, with Russell Penn hitting a post.

Shrewsbury goalkeeper David Button was then forced into a fingertip save from a John McGrath shot.

Burton were finally rewarded when Pearson latched onto a pass from substitute Jacques Maghoma to fire home the equaliser from eight yards with 15 minutes remaining.
