Rodgers was shown his tenth yellow in the 1-1 draw at Mansfield, and the news is a particular disappointment, as he was returning to top form.

According to Town's official website, he was cautioned for an over exuberant goal celebration causing time wasting.

Rodgers will miss the home clash with Macclesfield an the away tie with Lincoln. The two matches will be tough as both opponents are flying high at the moment.

The two-match ban has spurred boss Gary Peters to step up his action in the transfer market. Peters revealed to the Shropshire Star that he had seen one deal scuppered at the last minute, but was still looking.

Peters told the Shropshire Star: "We had real competition for places a couple of weeks ago when Duane Darby and Dave Ridler were fit and Mossy was still here, and that enabled me not to have to bring people in from outside.

"But that competition has quickly disappeared and I now have to put pressure on the players in the team from outside rather than inside," he added.
