Turner handed gong

Turner guided his side to 13 points from a possible 15 as his side went through the month unbeaten, scoring 11 goals and conceding one on the way to four wins and a draw.

Former Charlton and West Ham boss Alan Curbishley, who chairs the judging panel, told the club's official website: "Shrewsbury's success has been built on a sturdy defence - conceding only one goal in five games.

"Turner's side are now in firm contention for promotion from League Two."

Npower head of sponsorship Emma Collins added: "Shrewsbury have been solid at the back, and free-scoring up-front.

"To score 11 goals with one against is an excellent return, and the Shrews will be looking to maintain their good form as the season hots up."
