Wanted: Faces for Radio

Soon-to-be-launched Shrewsbury FM is looking for local people with talent and creative flare to present programmes on a one month trial broadcast from their new studio on Wyle Cop.

And the station is after potential presenters for a Shrewsbury Town oriented sports show on Saturdays.

Martin Childs, project manager, said “We are looking for presenters for our weekdays and weekend programming. The kind of show they will present will be determined on the details of what local people want from our station.”

"At the heart of Shrewsbury’s community is Shrewsbury Town football club.
The station is also on the look out for keen Shrewsbury Town Fans to present a sport show."

Martin added “The response so far has been to support our local team. We want to get behind the town as much as possible and do all that we can to help push the side forward. The ideal presenter for the sports show should be someone who is really passionate about our local club, confident about talking on the radio and in short loves the club.”

Shrewsbury FM say they are keen to produce a radio station that meets the needs of people who live and work in Shrewsbury. The station is looking forward to broadcasting as soon as the communication regulators Ofcom grant approval.

Residents who have ideas of what should be broadcast or think they are a potential presenter or producer should contact Martin and the team through the website at www.shrewsburyfm.net.
