Young guns commit to Town future

The duo of Dave Edwards and Joe Hart have signed two and three year contracts respectively.

Both Hart, 18, and Edwards, 19, are local boys and products of the Town youth sytem that also produced first teamer Jamie Tolley and soon-to-depart Luke Rodgers.

Hart impressed everyone when he stepped in between the posts for the vital clash with Oxford, producing a clean sheet to boost Town's survival hopes.

He has played the last six games, and is rumoured to be being watched by some of the nation's top clubs.

And Edwards forced his way towards a regular first team spot as the season drew to a close. His season was kick-started with three goals in three games during a period of Town resurgence in December and January.

Tying up these prospects is a big boost for the club, and indicate Gary Peters' aim to create a youthful-looking side.
