Carl Fletcher's last-minute strike rescued a 1-1 draw for Plymouth against Shrewsbury.

Argyle should have taken the lead within two minutes but Tom Hitchcock shot wide from close range. Shrewsbury went close through Marvin Morgan four minutes later but his header was saved by Jake Cole.

The home side finished the first half strongly but Lionel Ainsworth and James Collins shot wide when well placed.

Plymouth came out on the attack and Warren Feeney almost scored a debut goal after 51 minutes but his shot forced a fine save from Benjamin Smith.

The Shrews took the lead with 20 minutes to go when Collins converted Mark Wright's low left-wing cross. But the Pilgrims responded well and almost equalised through Durrell Berry but his powerful drive was parried by Smith.

Peter Reid's side finally got their reward in the final minute when Fletcher latched on to the loose ball to lash it into the top corner from 12 yards after Shrewsbury failed to clear their lines.
