Ainsworth missing for Shrews

Shrewsbury will once again be without winger Lionel Ainsworth when they face Oldham in the first round of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy. The summer signing was expected to return for Saturday's League Two clash at Stockport but has still not fully recovered from a groin strain. Shrews boss Graham Turner has revealed Kevin McIntyre will start at Boundary Park and fellow midfielder Lewis Neal could also come into the side, with Mark Wright a doubt after picking up a knock. Turner has vowed to name the strongest side available to him and his players will be full of confidence when they return to Lancashire on the back of a 4-0 thrashing of Stockport. Defender Danny O'Donnell and striker Nathan Elder are sidelined with groin and knee injuries respectively.
