Cansdell-Sherriff calls on fans

Shane Cansdell-Sherriff has called on Shrewsbury Town fans to get behind the side and help revive their League Two play-off chase. "We need support, not rants," Cansdell-Sherriff told BBC Radio Shropshire after boss Paul Simpson highlighted the abuse aimed at him and the team.

"That support makes us feel and play a little bit better, and fans need to see we're working hard and get behind us."

Shrewsbury lost all four matches in March without scoring a goal.

That run dropped them to five points off the play-offs but Cansdell-Sherriff insisted the players have not given up.

"We're not letting the demons in. The past few weeks have been frustrating, but the mood's very positive," he said.

"We've still got a lot to play for - the season's not finished."
