Shrews can match Pirates - Disley

Shrewsbury midfielder Craig Disley says Town can match the feat of the 2007 Bristol Rovers side and win their last three games to reach the play-offs.Disley was part of the Pirates' team that beat Shrewsbury in the final that year to win promotion from League Two.

"It was exactly the same situation," he told BBC Radio Shropshire.

"We were four points off the play-offs with three games to go and two games later we were in the play-offs. That just shows what football's like."

As well as the 2007 defeat by Rovers, Shrewsbury were beaten 1-0 in last season's final by Gillingham thanks to Simeon Jackson's last-minute goal.

The Shrews currently lie 12th in League Two, four points and five places of the play-off zone.

They meet Northampton, Morecambe and Port Vale - the three sides currently directly above them - in their last three fixtures.

Disley hopes to feature in the run-in after recovering from the ankle injury he picked up in the 1-1 draw with Rotherham in February.

The former Mansfield man returned to training on Thursday.
