"We weren't positive enough," said Shrewsbury boss Paul Simpson. "We didn't really test their goalkeeper - maybe that's credit to Bury, maybe it was us.
"If you look at Bury's record, that's seven straight home wins now and they've only conceded three in that time, so we always knew this was going to be a tough game.
"But I think we would have made it tougher for them if we had done what we've been doing recently. We've been positive with the system over the last few weeks."
