Turner- We never got going

Shrewsbury boss Graham Turner admitted his side were not at their best in a 1-1 draw with Torquay. The Gulls outplayed Graham Turner's side for much of the game and could have secured all three points had Nicky Wroe not missed a penalty. Jake Robinson gave the Shrews an early lead, but after Wroe had missed from the spot, Elliot Benyon showed him how it is done with a successful penalty 11 minutes before half-time. Torquay almost won it when Wayne Carlisle crashed a 20-yard drive against a post five minutes from time. Turner said: "We've got to be more careful in and around our penalty area. What we're doing by dangling a foot in is presenting the opposition with good goalscoring opportunities. I've said before there will be games when we don't get our game going and that's one of those occasions. "We were starting to grind them down the last 15 minutes without creating any clear-cut chances, but on this showing Torquay looked a decent team. They caused us problems, so it's definitely a point gained, and I've no complaints about anything. "Jake Robinson has done extremely well with his goals here and it could have been a case that we've scored early and we felt it was going to be easy, I don't know. We've had good results here and steamrollered teams with our performances."
